Dr Arun M Kumar is an accomplished engineer and scientist with over 32 years of professional experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from IIT Madras in Metallurgical Engineering, MS and PhD in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Vanderbilt University. After his PhD, Dr Kumar started his career as a Research Associate at Washington State University. Subsequently, he has worked in a variety of industry domains that includes Tata Steel, General Motors India Science Lab and General Electric Global Research. His areas of expertise spans across advanced flat steel processing and applications for automotive, lightweight materials for automotive and aerospace applications, environmental durability of materials, fracture and fatigue analysis and numerical modeling, in addition to R&D program management, technology roadmaps and mentoring.
Dr Kumar has 56 publications, 9 patents as well as numerous technical and management awards to his credit.
Name: Dr. Lokendra Jain
Dr. Lokendra Jain is a doctoral fellow jointly with department of Physics and department of Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science, IIT Bombay.
Experience: After finishing his PhD he worked with EDAX, Ametek as an application engineer for three and half year and he has strong background in electron microscopy and micro analysis. He has over 10 years of experience in training students and technical persons across the globe. He has organized various workshops, training sessions and instruments demonstrations for scientific community in more than 9 countries, especially in India he is recognized by both academia and industry.

He was involved in various national and international project for GAIL, HPCL, BPCL, Shell, Petrobrass, NIOC, Bab Integrated Facilities Project at CPECC China, Adgas, Das Island Sadara chemical as a approved Level III for international clients like Saudi Aramco, ADCO , GASCO, Qatar Petroleum.
He has completed many projects as PCN Level III in UT, PAUT &TOFD, EN 473 Level II in UT & MT, He was certified ASNT Level II in MFL, CSWIP Level 2 in AUT Interpretation .
He has Undergone training of TOFD & Phased Array on TD Focus Scan, TD Handy Scan, TDPocket Scan, Omni Scan & AIS ( NB2000 ).UT Scan, Weld Star, Pipe wizard ( Olympus), MFL – Silverwing. He has attended Thermography object oriented training for FLIR 1020 and FLIR GF 309.
